    Renovations possible for the SAC

The student athletic center, also known as the “SAC”, here at Lipscomb University has always been a staple building on campus. But, according to Kegan York, director of campus recreation, we now have more students than recreation center. “We’ve definitely outgrown our space.” Kegan York Built in 1994, the SAC didn’t have any renovations done until 2011, which moved the weight room from where the Freshens is now to where the weight room now lives. It also got repainted. And in 2019, they added what York called the Rogue Room, as pictured here. It’s more of a “crossfit” type of room than a traditional weight room. Also, last summer, the…

    Lipscomb-Palooza – Lipscomb’s first on-campus music festival

Lipscomb Palooza is the first on-campus music festival at Lipscomb, featuring the artists, River and Rail, Amber Sawyer, Luke Bandy, Hello Darling, Kelle Cates, and Garden. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Luke Bandy (@lukeebandy) Lipscomb Palooza came from the brains of Luke Bandy and Amber Sawyer. The purpose of this festival is to intertwine the music community with the general population here at Lipscomb. Since the pandemic, there hasn’t been much enthusiasm for on-campus events from students, especially in the entertainment department.  At the peak of the pandemic, Luke Bandy was a freshman at Lipscomb in 2020. He said there wasn’t much of a music scene…

    The new look Bisons

The Lipscomb Men’s basketball season just ended, and the Bisons will not look the same when the season starts next year. The Bisons only have two seniors, but unfortunately, they are two very important players who play a huge role at Lipscomb University. Matt Schner First is Matt Schner. Matt transferred to Lipscomb this year for his final season of college basketball. Matt had previously played at Emory University, a D3 school in Atlanta Georgia (that’s why he only has 1 year of stats on ESPN). If you want to see his Emory stats click here. Lipscomb by the numbers – WiFi

This week’s edition of Lipscomb by the numbers takes a look at none other than the campus’s WiFi. With so many students coming back to campus from break this week, and all of their devices rejoining the school’s WiFi network, the WiFi is going to be busier than it’s been in the past week. But the WiFi sees peak hours, and those are the numbers we’re going to talk about this week. There are three WiFi’s on campus: staff, student and guest. All of the peak time numbers come from IT. The first of these, the staff WiFi, sees its peak demand from basically 1-3pm. After three, the majority of…

A look back at the special 2022-2023 Lipscomb Women’s Basketball Team

Devastatingly, the Lipscomb women’s basketball team fell to Liberty 84-56 last Wednesday in the ASUN semifinals, officially concluding their season. Although it was a loss by a wide margin, the result is not how we should remember this team. The way we should is a team that reached the 20-win threshold and went high above expectations. As we reflect on this special Lipscomb team, let’s examine this past season and three things to prepare for next year. Looking back at early November, no one had much faith in the Bisons. They had finished the past season with a 10-20 record while losing three starters: Jordan Peete, Maddie Cook, and Casey…
