In this interview I talked with Junior class president, CJ Jimcoily, to dive into his intentions for the student body and his goals set for the Junior class. Was there a moment or point that made you decide to run for president? It was something I had wanted to do for a while. In your speech, you said you want to prioritize student voices. How do you plan to get feedback from the students and put their opinions to use? Using my relationships that I have with students, I know I can directly ask some of the students for their opinions. I also am proposing to do more surveys and…

In this interview, I was able to talk to Lucy Allen, the Senior Class President. We talked about her role as president, exciting new possibilities for the senior class, and more insight into her campaign. How will your role as senior class president differ from Jake Rosenthal’s role as Student Body president? While everyone on SGA thinks of the best interests of the whole student body, my job is to specifically make sure that the ideas and thoughts of the senior class are represented to the best of my ability. Jake has done and is doing an excellent job of balancing input from all grades, but my focus is on…

Both thrived despite having less experience with the Lipscomb theater programs. The cast also adapted to a new Director, Christin Toole, since Lipscomb’s previous Director transferred to the university.  The Lipscomb Academy Theater Program has performed many great Disney hits over the past years including “Cinderella” in 2018 and “High School Musical” in 2022. Hollywood Actor Brian Jones Shares Life Story Through Hilarious Anecdotes

^Listen to the podcast here!^ “I almost just made my very first mistake in my life.”  This quote without context could seem extremely narcissistic, but coming from Brian Michael Jones, the new theater teacher and director of plays here at Lipscomb academy, it’s clearly said in jest.  After having him as my teacher and director in the radio play “It’s a Wonderful Life,” I wanted to learn his origin story and ask some questions about his experience as an actor. Some may say that if you love your work you’ll never work a day in your life, but from what Jones says, I’ve become a bit more humble and realize…

Lipscomb Academy’s high school football team, the Mustangs, are officially moving from TSSAA Division II-AA to Division II-AAA for their 2023-2024 season.  The LA Mustangs are the current defending 2021 state champions and the 2020 state runners up with a streak of 17 consecutive wins and a record of 311 points scored. Throughout the whole 2022 season, there have only been 52 points scored against LA.  Because of Lipscomb’s dominance on the football field, some schools don’t see the competition as fair. One team chose to cancel their game altogether even though they have been on Lipscomb’s regular football schedule for years. When the Mustangs change divisions, opportunities will be…
