The protests began on September 16th, after Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman, died while in the custody of the morality police for violating the strict rule that requires to cover their hair with a hijab or a headscarf. Volleyball season recap: what to expect next year
The 2022 Lipscomb volleyball season has come to an end after a tight loss to the Liberty Flames in the semifinal of the ASUN Tournament on November 18th. The match could not have been closer, with the game going the distance to a fifth set. Liberty finished the game off with a kill from former Bison Kamryn Bacus, with the final score of the fifth set being 15 to 13. The annual Halloween Dodgeball tournament returned to Fanning Hall. The spooky tradition packs students into the Fanning courtyard each year where they watch their peers go head-to-head. This Lipscomb tradition has been put on for nearly two decades. But each time, you’re guaranteed to see something you’ve never seen before. Traditionally in sports, teams are united by uniforms. Parking on campus: is it as bad as you think?
Parking is a problem that Lipscomb University has faced since (what seems like) the beginning of time. It’s maddening. It’s frustrating. It’s… maybe not as bad as you think. There are 1,367 spots on this campus for students, including the 68 handicap-accessible spots. That number seems pretty irrelevant when it takes 20 minutes to find a parking spot on campus, but maybe we just aren’t looking in the right place.

Three takes from basketball exhibition victory
After nearly an eight month hiatus, basketball returned to Allen Arena on Monday night. Lipscomb women’s basketball unofficially opened their season Monday night against Blue Mountain College, a NAIA team that surprisingly took the Bisons to the wire. Although the game does not officially count on either team’s record, it certainly wasn’t uneventful; the Bisons’ preseason debut consisted of a 10 minute scoreboard delay and a pressure-filled finish. Men’s basketball picked 8th pre-season–why they’re right and why they’re wrong
It may come as a shock to the system for fans of the Purple and Gold to see a disappointing 6th and 8th position in the ASUN Conference Coaches' and Media Polls, respectively. The rankings, announced by the league office earlier this week, represent what would be a season of stagnation rather than a return to recent dominance. What's yet to be seen is how true those rankings will turn out to be come March.
