    One of the most notable things when coming back after the long summer break is how many new faces you see around campus. And in 2023 this has become even more apparent. This is the largest incoming class of freshmen and transfers than ever before. So let’s take a closer look at some of the numbers from Lipscomb’s newest class of students. A total of 893 NEW undergraduate students, including freshmen, transfers, and new online students have enrolled for the 2023 Fall semester.     David French appointed visiting professor of public policy at Lipscomb University.

    David A. French a New York Times columnist, former constitutional litigator and Iraqi War veteran has been appointed distinguished visiting professor of public policy in Lipscomb University’s College of Leadership & Public Service.  French holds an undergraduate degree in political science from Lipscomb and is an opinion columnist for the New York Times. As distinguished visiting professor, French will teach traditional and short-courses as well as support special events and engagements.     Quest Week is a long-standing tradition at Lipscomb University that encourages and establishes a lasting community for incoming students. The hard work, dedication, and preparation can often be glanced over, but it’s what makes the week a memorable experience for those who participate.     Lipscomb’s 60th Singarama comes to a close

    Lipscomb’s 60th Singarama came to an end with the final performance on Saturday. The sweepstakes category went to “Diamond in the Rough”. The group consisted of members from the social clubs Phi Sigma, Phi Nu, Tau Phi and Sigma Alpha, as well as friends. The categories for the last show were best vocals, entertainment and overall sweepstakes. Best vocals and entertainment went to the group “Shine Bright Like a Diamond”. Junior marketing major, Lexi Peden and her sister, sophomore music industry studies major Isabella, co-directed the winning group.     Singarama performances ‘sparkle’ on opening night of Diamond Anniversary

    On what was a beautiful night for song and dance in Nashville, students, faculty, and other members of the Lipscomb community came together for the opening night of Lipscomb’s annual “Singarama” event. After months of commitment, preparation, and anticipation, students participating in the event were finally able to see all of their hard work come to fruition; performing in front of what was a packed crowd inside of Collins Alumni Auditorium.     It’s time to say goodbye to the old, and hello to the new. If you’re someone that has been craving healthier eating options at Lipscomb, then we’ve got some good news for you. Two new on-campus dining options will be coming to Lipscomb next year. ‘Boar’s Head Deli’ will be replacing ‘Pie on the Fly’, and ‘Wild Blue’ will be replacing ‘Creekstone Burger Company’.     Lipscomb by the numbers: Beaman Library

    This week Lipscomb by the numbers heads over to Beaman Library. The library sees a lot of traffic each semester. Students pick up and check out books for classes, books for research, and books for fun. Herd Media went to the library to see just how many books that is. Last semester, students checked out 1,297 books and read or downloaded 3,295 ebooks. The numbers are already rising this semester, despite being only a month into it.     Lipscomb University’s AMA hikes for the homeless

    One of the biggest items on a resume is volunteer work. Students can join the American Marketing Association (AMA) at Lipscomb University to gain experience in marketing and be given chances to serve their community. Every year, AMA attends a service project around the Nashville area to serve their community and raise awareness for the organization.
