If you listen to the “Herd That” Podcast from last night, we told you a little about the antics that go along with the Battle of the Boulevard. Sure, Lipscomb students have put dye in the Bruins’ fountains, Belmont has taken our championship banner, and some former Bisons also took down John the Baptist – the statue, of course. However, when Belmont College students stole LU Bison’s head, the presses did everything but stop. 1973: The year a struggling Bison team took down Belmont

Leading up to the first installment of the “cross-town rivalry” of the ’72-’73 season, the two previous games between Belmont and Lipscomb had been decided by a total of five points. The next game would not be that much different. The Bisons took the lead early on, and survived a late first-half run from the Rebels to take a four-point lead into the locker room. Reunion Weekend 2010
Lipscomb hosted a Reunion Weekend April 2-4. Students from the classes of 1970, 1980, and 1990 were on campus to experience firsthand all of the changes that have occurred at Lipscomb over the past several years. Bisons take game one of series, lose last two
The Bison baseball hosted ETSU on Friday and Saturday. While the Bisons won on Friday by a score of 9-4, the team lost both games of their doubleheader on Saturday, however, losing 15-6 and 6-3.

Lady Bisons sweep USC Upstate, improve to 4-0 in A-Sun

The softball team faced one the best pitchers in the nation on Saturday; that, however, would not slow them down on their way to improve their conference record to 4-0 Game 1 It was an old fashioned pitchers’ duel on Saturday afternoon as Lipscomb’s Whitney Kiihnl and Upstate’s Morgan Childers went head-to-head at Draper Diamond. Going into the weekend Kiihnl and Childers ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in hits given up per game. Softball sweeps ETSU in A-Sun opener
It was a busy weekend for the Lady Bisons hosting ETSU and USC twice on the weekend. The ladies swept ETSU 5-0 and 2-1 as part of their “Strike Out Cancer” night to raise breast cancer awareness.
