SGA reflects on achievements and encourages students to participate in elections
The Student Government Association (SGA) elections are coming up this April, where students have the opportunity to choose who will represent them in the 2024-2025 academic year. The main mission of the SGA is to enhance the student’s experience, according to Cindy Duong, senior international affairs major from Fort Myers, FL, who is also one of the executive officers. “A lot of people think that it’s just planning events, and that’s actually the Student Activities Board,” said Duong. No outside dates at Lipscomb SGA formal, citing security and budget

SGA has goal of creating bright campus
One initiative of this year’s Student Government Association is student safety. President Janeyah Anderson said the SGA is looking to enhance the student experience. “We have been working pretty hard to figure out ways that we can accommodate the feeling of safety on Lipscomb’s campus,” Anderson said. “We have been focusing primarily on lighting.” Lipscomb’s campus never closes during the school year. With about 2,500 students living on campus, they often walk across campus from building to building at night. Commuter students find themselves in this situation the most. Staying late with friends, studying or attending class requires them to walk back to their cars at night. …

Student Government Association elections just wrapped for this semester solidifying the new officers for the 2023-24 school year. Lipscomb’s SGA helps to keep student morale, advocate for concerns of students, and promote academic, social, and spiritual growth with Christian values and principles of the university.
