Herd Media

Forrest Maners is a sophomore sports media major from Jackson, Tennessee. He enjoys photography, video, and sports writing. Besides being a student, Forrest spends time as a student assistant for Lipscomb Baseball. Some of his best accomplishments come from being the Media Ministry Intern at his home church. He developed a broadcast system, podcast studio, and various types of social media content. Forrest hopes that someday he will be working for a professional sports team.

    Empowering service members: Leadership program earns Army Community Partnership Award 

    Nestled within the heart of Lipscomb University lies a beacon of empowerment, where service members from the Tennessee National Guard find not just education, but a pathway to leadership. Two years ago, Lipscomb’s College of Leadership and Public Service launched a program for Tennessee National Guard members. The first class graduated this past fall.     In 1926, Henry Ford initiated the transition from a 6-day work week to a 5-day week, aiming to enhance efficiency on assembly lines. Over time, this model became adopted worldwide, including in academic institutions. Lipscomb University’s standard schedule offers classes Monday-Friday, night and day.  The college of Business, however, has most of its classes on a four day a week schedule.     Bison Triumph: Thrilling buzzer-beater caps Star Wars night victory over Jacksonville Dolphins

    The Bisons win at the Buzzer with free throws by Derrin Boyd in a thrilling 84-82 victory over the Dolphins of Jacksonville. Will Pruit was by far the player of the game with 19 points, 8 rebounds and finished 4-5 from three-point land. Boyd was just as steady with quite 24 points.   Fans enjoyed a Star Wars themed game, nothing short of spectacular. There were several Star Wars characters in Allen Arena Circle for fans to meet.
