Lipscomb by the numbers – Baseball
Happy Monday! This week’s Lipscomb by the numbers will be taking a look at our baseball team. The Bisons baseball team has had a string of tough non-conference teams to play recently, leading to a series of very tough games. But you wouldn’t know that looking at our conference record, with the start of conference play two weekends ago. Those conference numbers are what we’ll be looking at today. Conference play began with an at home weekend series against Jacksonville from March 17th through March 19th. The Bisons had a bit of a rough Friday game, losing to the Jacksonville Dolphins 2-6, however, they turned around to win the series…

Good Morning Lipscomb Athletics – Weekly Sports Update

Baseball ended their spring break in a three-day series against Jacksonville, losing Friday but winning [heftily] on Saturday and Sunday. Their Tuesday game against Vanderbilt was postponed to March 28 of next week, due to weather. This weekend, they will be in North Carolina for another three-day weekend series against Queens. The Friday game will be aired on ESPN+. Softball ended their spring break with three wins over Bellarmine at Draper Diamond on Saturday and Sunday this past weekend. This week’s edition of Lipscomb by the numbers takes a look at none other than the campus’s WiFi. With so many students coming back to campus from break this week, and all of their devices rejoining the school’s WiFi network, the WiFi is going to be busier than it’s been in the past week. But the WiFi sees peak hours, and those are the numbers we’re going to talk about this week. There are three WiFi’s on campus: staff, student and guest. All of the peak time numbers come from IT. On Tuesday they traveled the Knoxville to play the University of Tennessee Volunteers, they took a tough 0-10 loss but will be back home this weekend hosting at Ken Dugan Field a three-day series against Jacksonville. The reason they are the number one threat out of the Big Ten is because of their three major wins on the season and they firepower they have on their roster. Check out our Instagram for a live video update from Micah Barkley. This week in Lipscomb Athletics: Women’s Golf came in first out of 11 at the Samford Intercollegiate Tournament. Softball did well in their weekend series this past weekend, playing four games and winning three of them to take the series. Their only loss was to Providence, in their second game against the team. Lipscomb by the numbers: Lippy Lunatics trip
This week’s Lipscomb by the numbers goes back to Thursday the 2nd, when Lipscomb’s Lippy Lunatics traveled 232 miles to Kennesaw State University to support the Lipscomb Bisons men’s basketball team at the ASUN championship semifinals. Lippy Lunatics worked with Lipscomb to get two charter buses for the drive and 100 tickets to the game. They put the word out, and 66 people boarded the two 50-passenger charter buses at 11:45 in the morning on March 2nd. Together those 66 students rode for over three and a half hours on the 232 mile trip to KSU. The students packed into KSU’s Convocation Center, after out-cheering a group of KSU students…

Lipscomb by the numbers: Giving Day
This week with Lipscomb by the numbers we’re looking back at the university-wide Giving Day, which took place on Thursday, February 23rd. There are a lot of numbers from Giving Day, so let’s dive into some of them. Giving Day this year was a success, with over two million dollars raised. The official final number is $2,097,446. To put this into perspective, the highest Lipscomb has raised in the past was $2,330,643 during former Lipscomb President Willard Collins’s “Million Dollar Day” in 1985. Let’s look at some more numbers… Lipscomb broke up their donors by affiliations, separating them into groups like “Faculty/Staff,” “Friend,” “University Parent,” and more. The leading group…
