Lipscomb’s men’s basketball team took on the Iowa State Cyclones this month in March Madness. Though the No. 14 Bisons fell to the No. 3 Cyclones, the team was all smiles, as they got to take part in something most kids dream about – playing in the big dance. Under the lights of the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Bisons warmed up with a shoot around on the floor of the NBA Bucks’ home stadium. The Bisons at the Big Dance – a photo gallery
The No. 14 Lipscomb Bisons took on the No. 3 Iowa State Cyclones on Thursday at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Though the Bisons fell to the Cyclones 55-82, appearing in March Madness is always memorable. Herd Media Sports Photographer Micah Barkley traveled on a bus with the Lippy Lunatics to cover the game. The Lunatics rented two Gray Line buses, and almost 100 students – Lunatics and Pep Band – made their way to Milwaukee. It was a 25-and-a-half-hour “day” for the students, leaving at 1 a.m. on Friday morning and returning to campus at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. These are some of the shots from the Bisons’ second…

Basketball takes on Central Arkansas twice and dominates – a photo gallery
Lipscomb’s men’s basketball team faced off against the Central Arkansas Bears twice in the past week. Their first game, on Wednesday, saw them beat the Bears 78-60 to become the ASUN regular season champions. Then in their second game, on Monday, they triumphed over the bears 84-66 to move forward in the ASUN Tournament bracket. There were some key moments in both games, some of which happened not once, but twice – such as Lipscomb senior forward Jacob Ognacevic dunking on UCA. A look back at Halloweek – a photo gallery
At the end of October, Lipscomb students geared up for a long-awaited week of spooky festivities – “Halloweek.” The campus’s residence halls put on different themed events, ranging from Elam Hall’s Yeehaw to High Rise’s Haunted Wednesday Nights We Eat. Members of Dr. Lois Jones’s Photojournalism Class covered the events, resulting in this photo gallery. A Beautiful Day for baseball
This past Tuesday was Lipscomb’s A Beautiful Day, and amidst many events, the baseball team hosted Vanderbilt. The first time Vandy had come to Lipscomb for a home game in 14 years, the stands – and surrounding hills – were packed. In fact, the final official attendance number was 1,547, a record number for Lipscomb baseball. Check out some snapshots from the game, taken by Herd Media Photographer Micah Barkley.

Lipscomb track and field takes on Music City Challenge at Vanderbilt – a photo gallery
This past weekend, the Lipscomb track and field team headed to Vanderbilt to take part in their Music City Challenge. The team not only broke three program records, but they took three victories in the individual events, and had a total of 21 top-5 finishes. It’s safe to say that it was a very good weekend for the team. Herd Media was at the meet, and Herd Media photographer Stephen Scarboro took photos of many of the events. A wild weekend series – Lipscomb baseball versus Liberty photo gallery
This past weekend, the Lipscomb Bisons faced off against the Liberty Flames in a three-day baseball weekend series, March 31st through April 2nd. The Bisons beat the Flames in Friday’s game 2-1, they beat the Flames in Saturday’s game 8-7, and though they lost Sunday’s game 4-9 they won the series against the Flames, 2-1. This was the first time the Bisons had beat the Flames for a series win in program history. Behind the scenes with the Bisons – a pre-season look at the baseball team through photos
Baseball season begins this Friday, with the Bisons playing their home opener against Notre Dame. In preparation for the start of the season, the Bisons have scrimmaged several times in practice. Herd Media photographer Micah Barkley covered the most recent one, on February 12, capturing the Bisons’ season readiness on camera.

Lilli Grace Barden, River and Rail fill The Well with love
On Feb. 3, River and Rail took the stage as The Well Coffeehouse filled with support from friends and classmates. The night was filled with an abundance of love songs, perfect to kick off Valentine’s season. Grace Fincher, senior commercial music major, and her husband Alex Fincher make up the folk duo River and Rail. Playing songs that highlighted the couple’s lyricism accompanied by a melancholy acoustic guitar, this show was a showcase of all things River and Rail. The duo captivated the crowd with original songs ranging from love songs — perfect for Valentine’s day — to songs inspired by nature, family and diving into the mind of oneself. …
