    A Beautiful Day for baseball

    This past Tuesday was Lipscomb’s A Beautiful Day, and amidst many events, the baseball team hosted Vanderbilt. The first time Vandy had come to Lipscomb for a home game in 14 years, the stands – and surrounding hills – were packed. In fact, the final official attendance number was 1,547, a record number for Lipscomb baseball. Check out some snapshots from the game, taken by Herd Media Photographer Micah Barkley.

    Lipscomb track and field takes on Music City Challenge at Vanderbilt – a photo gallery

    This past weekend, the Lipscomb track and field team headed to Vanderbilt to take part in their Music City Challenge. The team not only broke three program records, but they took three victories in the individual events, and had a total of 21 top-5 finishes. It’s safe to say that it was a very good weekend for the team. Herd Media was at the meet, and Herd Media photographer Stephen Scarboro took photos of many of the events. Next, the team looks to the take on the outdoor track and field ASUN championship in Jacksonville, FL, from May 11-13th. For a recap of the meet, check out Lipscomb Athletics.

    A wild weekend series – Lipscomb baseball versus Liberty photo gallery

    This past weekend, the Lipscomb Bisons faced off against the Liberty Flames in a three-day baseball weekend series, March 31st through April 2nd. The Bisons beat the Flames in Friday’s game 2-1, they beat the Flames in Saturday’s game 8-7, and though they lost Sunday’s game 4-9 they won the series against the Flames, 2-1. This was the first time the Bisons had beat the Flames for a series win in program history. The Bisons wore their pinstripe jerseys on Friday, their white jerseys on Saturday and their throwback Ken Dugan blues on Sunday. To see the full photos in the gallery, click on them to expand them.     Lilli Grace Barden, River and Rail fill The Well with love

    On Feb. 3, River and Rail took the stage as The Well Coffeehouse filled with support from friends and classmates. The night was filled with an abundance of love songs, perfect to kick off Valentine’s season.  Grace Fincher, senior commercial music major, and her husband Alex Fincher make up the folk duo River and Rail. Playing songs that highlighted the couple’s lyricism accompanied by a melancholy acoustic guitar, this show was a showcase of all things River and Rail.  The duo captivated the crowd with original songs ranging from love songs — perfect for Valentine’s day — to songs inspired by nature, family and diving into the mind of oneself. …
