Baseball season begins this Friday, with the Bisons playing their home opener against Notre Dame. In preparation for the start of the season, the Bisons have scrimmaged several times in practice. The Grand Ole Guitar
The guitar-shaped scoreboard has been an iconic part of the Nashville Sounds’ experience. The scoreboard was located at the Triple-A minor league team’s former longtime home at Greer Stadium at Fourth Avenue South and Chestnut Street in Nashville. The stadium opened in 1978 as the home of the Sounds and the scoreboard remained a favorite site at games until the team moved to First Horizon Park in Germantown in 2015. The demolition of Greer Stadium took place in 2019. The Dugan legacy continues
Will Dugan is a freshman right-handed pitcher with an incredible legacy sitting on his shoulders. The Dugan name is on several framed jerseys, cleats, and award plaques scattered around campus. It’s even on the baseball field itself. That’s no coincidence. His grandfather Ken Dugan is a Lipscomb baseball giant as both a player and a coach, a 1987 Lipscomb Hall of Fame inductee, 1991 Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame inductee and 2022 National College Baseball Hall of Fame inductee. The countdown to baseball season begins
The Lipscomb Bisons have been training hard during the offseason, and in early February they’ll have a chance to prove it. The 37-man roster features only five freshman and a large mix of upperclassmen. The team is dominated by juniors, with 16 on the roster; there are three graduate students, two fifth-years and one senior. Junior left-handed pitcher Logan Van Treeck said is excited for the upcoming season. “We lost some big pieces — seniors who got drafted or signed a pro ball contract,” Van Treeck said. “So coming into this season — man, we lost a lot of great dudes. Bisons take game one of series, lose last two
The Bison baseball hosted ETSU on Friday and Saturday. While the Bisons won on Friday by a score of 9-4, the team lost both games of their doubleheader on Saturday, however, losing 15-6 and 6-3.
