The Bisons wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning. Lipscomb Bisons baseball dropped the series opener to Central Arkansas, 12-6, on Friday night at Ken Dugan Field. Despite an early lead and a milestone home run by junior outfielder Jordan Thomas, a five-run eighth inning by the Bears proved to be the difference. The Bisons jumped out to an early advantage in the bottom of the second. After senior outfielder Keaton Mahan led off with a single and senior infielder Damion Kenealy Jr. added a base hit, Thomas drove a single into center field to open the scoring. Bisons walk-off in extras: Beddingfield’s heroics seal comeback over Colonels
In a marathon battle against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels and a biting late-March chill, the Lipscomb Bisons proved that patience and a little late-inning power pay off. Behind a game-tying blast in the ninth and a towering walk-off home run by freshman catcher Brock Beddingfield in the 12th, the Bisons secured a gritty 3-2 victory at Ken Dugan Field on Friday night. The evening started quickly for the Colonels. In the top of the first inning, Eastern Kentucky redshirt freshman outfielder Dylan Littlefield silenced the home crowd with a two-run homer off Lipscomb senior starting pitcher Alexander Llinas, jumping out to an immediate 2-0 lead. For the next several innings, the story was one of missed…

Bisons MBB season ends in ASUN Championship tournament loss to FGCU
The Lipscomb men’s basketball team’s season came to abrupt halt Friday afternoon, as a dominant interior performance by the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles led to a 77-53 defeat in the ASUN Championship quarterfinals. Playing at the neutral-site VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, the Bisons struggled to find their rhythm against an Eagles squad that controlled the glass and the paint from start to finish. Lipscomb redshirt junior guard Mateo Esmeraldo opened the scoring with a layup, and the Bisons remained within striking distance early, trailing 11-8 at the first media timeout. But the offense stalled shortly after. FGCU went on a sustained run to push the lead to 32-14 with 9:08…

Another “stampede-like” year for sports
Another year has gone by for Bison’s basketball and soccer and it’s been a good one. Although there still are a few sports in season, or just starting their season, the school year is closing fast and it’s time to look back at how the herd handled the rest of the nation. After making it to the ASUN conference playoffs last year, the Men’s basketball team returned once again. The guys didn’t play as well as expected, bringing in a record of 20 wins and 13 losses. But, they ended conference play on a three-game win streak giving them the 5 seed in the tournament. After beating Stetson in a…

Lipscomb by the numbers: Allen Arena attendance
1,681 students and fans crowded into Allen Arena on Thursday, Jan. 19, to watch the Lipscomb Bisons men’s basketball team take down the EKU Colonels. This was the highest-attended home basketball game since late November when the Bisons played the Covenant College Scots on the 21st. Interestingly, the biggest game this season was not the Battle of the Boulevard game in November, which had 3,772 students and fans in attendance, but the Homecoming weekend game against the Campbellsville-Harrodsburg Pioneers, which had 4,789 students and fans at the game. Last night’s game had the fourth-highest attendance of the season, even passing the attendance at the Navy game – although not by…
