    The Lipscomb men’s basketball team has had a rollercoaster 2023-2024 season up to this point.     There’s many traditions to a sporting event that just wouldn’t feel the same if they weren’t there. Remember when there were no fans at the games during COVID? Even though the action on the field, court, or pitch remained the same, the atmosphere of these games was’t the same compared to what we are used to. There was no roaring crowd of students there to cheer on their team. No cheerleaders chanting “Let’s Go Bisons!” or performing during timeouts.     A wild weekend series – Lipscomb baseball versus Liberty photo gallery

    This past weekend, the Lipscomb Bisons faced off against the Liberty Flames in a three-day baseball weekend series, March 31st through April 2nd. The Bisons beat the Flames in Friday’s game 2-1, they beat the Flames in Saturday’s game 8-7, and though they lost Sunday’s game 4-9 they won the series against the Flames, 2-1. This was the first time the Bisons had beat the Flames for a series win in program history.     Bisons’ Trace Willhoite earns national recognition for 2023 after strong season in 2022

    Hitting a baseball is a refined skill. It’s a skill that takes a mix of power, awareness, hand-eye coordination, and plate vision. For some, all of these attributes mix perfectly and with enough dedication and hard work can mold into a skill that can subsequently mold into a potential career. This is no different at the collegiate level, and there aren’t many better examples than Lipscomb’s Trace Willhoite. Willhoite, a sophomore third-baseman from Georgetown, Kentucky, was recently named to the watchlist for the 2023 Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award.     Since stepping onto Lipscomb’s campus as a freshman six years ago, Ahsan Asadullah has seen a lot in his time with Lipscomb Men’s Basketball. He has experienced an injury, a conference championship, postseason victories, a coaching change, a global pandemic, record-breaking accolades, and new teammates.
