The Lipscomb Bisons volleyball team fell short in cross-town rivalry action on Friday night, dropping a 3–0 decision to Vanderbilt University at Memorial Gymnasium. The Lipscomb women’s soccer team fought to a 2-2 draw against the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on Thursday night at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex. At the end of her 2025 spring season, Lipscomb midfielder Bella Carapazza, then a sophomore, had one personal goal for her upcoming season – win MVP. The Lipscomb women’s basketball team took on the Austin Peay Governors in the first round of the ASUN tournament, at noon in Jacksonville, Florida. They fell to the Govs 56-63, shut down by Austin Peay’s defense. The Governors held the Bisons to 33% in the first quarter, for both field goals and the 3-pointers, and 21.43% for field goals in the second quarter, 0% from three. After 23 years, Volleyball Head Coach Brandon Rosenthal to retire
When one thinks of Lipscomb Volleyball, Head Coach Brandon Rosenthal comes to mind. The two are strongly tied together – but they won’t be for much longer. After 23 seasons as Lipscomb Volleyball’s head coach, it’s no surprise that Rosenthal is one of the cornerstones of the program. Yet late in the afternoon of Jan. 7, his retirement was announced to the Lipscomb community. Lipscomb WSOC Head Coach Kevin O’Brien to coach for Mississippi State
This afternoon, Mississippi State women’s soccer announced that Lipscomb women’s soccer Head Coach Kevin O’Brien would be coming to coach for the Bulldogs. O’Brien recently led the Bisons to their second consecutive ASUN Championship victory this season. He also took them back to the NCAA Tournament, where they beat Mississippi State 1-0 in the first round. O’Brien also won the ASUN Coach of the Year award for the 2025 season, making it his fifth career ASUN Coach of the Year. After 14 seasons coaching women’s soccer at Lipscomb, O’Brien is the winningest head coach in program history. He boasts more than 150 career victories, having reached that milestone this season.…

Lipscomb women’s and men’s basketball took on the Belmont Bruins in a doubleheader Battle of the Boulevard, the two colleges’ historic rivalry games. Belmont swept the doubleheader, with the Lady Bruins winning in a blowout and the Bruins prevailing by seven points. Located just two miles down Nashville’s Belmont Boulevard from each other, Lipscomb University and Belmont University are the closest-by-distance rivalry in the NCAA.
