Queens and West Georgia await as Bisons tip-off ASUN home stretch

A pair of ASUN conference matchups are slated to kickoff the spring semester with Men’s Basketball taking on Queens on Thursday Jan. 9 and University of West Georgia on Saturday Jan. 10.

Head Coach Lennie previewed the matchup in a video posted to Lipscomb Men’s Basketball X (formerly Twitter) account.

“We’re excited to have the opportunity to play at home tonight against a really good Queens
team. Thankful for the weekend on the road last weekend at Jacksonville and I was really proud
of our guys for their effort and to go on the road and start the conference season with two
wins, Coach Acuff said.

The Bisons opened conference play with convincing wins against Jacksonville and University of North Florida. Coach Acuff is moving on to the next challenge.

“Away from home is big for sure, but now it’s on to the next one and tonight will be a real
challenge for our team.”

“We’re going to see a very, very good Queens team come in here. The last two years we played
them, both games have come down to the last possession. We’ve been fortunate enough to win
them.”

Coach Acuff understands the quality of the upcoming opponents.

“This is their best team. They’ve come in, they started the league with two wins as well, played
extremely well. They have the current player of the week in our league, current national player
of the week in Calamario who averaged 32.5 points a game last week in both games.”

“We’re going to need to be at our very best. We’re looking forward to the challenge as we get
our home part of our schedule going in ASUN play.”
