Forrest Maners is a senior sports media major from Jackson, Tennessee. He enjoys photography, video, and sports writing. Besides being a student, Forrest spends time as a student assistant for Lipscomb Baseball. Some of his best accomplishments come from being the Media Ministry Intern at his home church. He developed a broadcast system, podcast studio, and various types of social media content. Forrest hopes that someday he will be working for a professional sports team.

    Lipscomb’s big dance ends in Milwaukee with 82-55 loss to Iowa State

    Lipscomb’s March Madness journey was a short one. The No. 13 Bisons fell to No. 4 Iowa State 82-55 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Milwaukee’s Fiserv Arena on Friday. This was Lipscomb’s second appearance in the Big Dance and the first for head coach Lennie Acuff.   The Bisons started slowly but found their footing with an 11-4 run half-way through the first half to take their only lead.  “I think we’re up one with like 10 minutes to go in the first half, and they hit us like 10-0,” Acuff said. “That makes it tough.”  From there, it was all Cyclones.     Lipscomb secured the ASUN Tournament Championship with a 76-65 victory over North Alabama at Allen Arena on Sunday afternoon. In front of 5,000 fans, Joe Anderson led the Bisons with 23 points, including four three-pointers, while Will Pruitt added 17 points and 10 made free throws. The win clinches Lipscomb’s spot in the NCAA Tournament for just the second time and the first time since 2018.     The Bisons march on. The men’s team defeated Central Arkansas 84-66 Monday night to advance in the ASUN Conference Tournament.     Lipscomb University announces major curriculum changes for fall 2025

    Starting next fall, Lipscomb University will introduce a revamped general education curriculum, including a new program called POWERS. Designed to strengthen students’ communication and writing skills, the changes come in response to faculty concerns about a lack of effective communication in the classroom and beyond. While professors believe the updates will better prepare students for the future, some students worry about the removal of key courses.     Lipscomb Basketball claims ASUN regular season title with 78-60 win over Central Arkansas

    Lipscomb defeated Central Arkansas 78-60 to secure the 2025 ASUN Regular Season Championship, earning the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. This marks the program’s fourth regular-season title and gives the Bisons home-court advantage throughout the tournament.     A lasting tradition of Lipscomb University is Singarama. This spring brings the 62nd annual student led musical to campus. Hundreds of students, alumni and family with gather in Collins Alumni Auditorium to watch students battle it out every night for the grand prize.     Lipscomb’s enrollment of new students is at an all-time high. Questions are beginning to mount about where students will reside during the school year, especially for upperclassmen. The Village is open to a majority of upperclassmen. It features apartment style living while being in the heart of campus. The process of obtaining the space is very competitive. Open rooms are made available through a lottery process. Current residents are given the option to squat the space. Essentially saving their spot for the next school year.     Lipscomb University’s Student Body Formal is set to transport students straight into the Jazz Age. The formal will be from 6-9 p.m. on Feb. 7 in the Shinn Center. It will feature live music, a DJ and a night full of dancing. This annual event has become somewhat a tradition, offering students a chance to dress up, celebrate and make memories together.
