Forrest Maners is a senior sports media major from Jackson, Tennessee. He enjoys photography, video, and sports writing. Besides being a student, Forrest spends time as a student assistant for Lipscomb Baseball. Some of his best accomplishments come from being the Media Ministry Intern at his home church. He developed a broadcast system, podcast studio, and various types of social media content. Forrest hopes that someday he will be working for a professional sports team.

    Holcomb shines, Vinson clutches: Lady Bisons defeat Jacksonville 85-82

    Jalyn Holcomb delivered a standout performance to lead Lipscomb to a nail-biting 85-82 victory over Jacksonville at Allen Arena. Holcomb’s 27-point effort, thanks to six three-pointers, lifted the Bisons to their fourth ASUN win of the season.     Bisons bounce back: Gyasi Powell leads Lipscomb to dominant win

    The Lipscomb Bisons rebounded from Thursday’s loss with a commanding 86-67 victory over West Georgia in a thrilling come-from-behind win. Despite a slow start that left them trailing by 15 points in the first half, the Bisons showed resilience to cut the deficit to five, entering halftime down 38-33.  West Georgia (3-13), riding high after a win over ASUN foe Austin Peay, looked poised to challenge Lipscomb early on.     Late-game drama sees Lipscomb fall in ASUN matchup to Queens, 75-73

    Lipscomb Men’s Basketball drop game 3 of its ASUN slate against Queens 75-73 in a classical Allen Arena thriller. The first half saw the Royals jump out to an early 11-2 lead, fueled by Chris Ashby’s three early 3-pointers. Lipscomb, however, chipped away behind strong play from Dylan Faulkner. Defensively the Bisons slowly began capitalizing on Queens turnovers with key baskets from Joe Anderson and Will Pruitt.     Due to inclement weather, Lipscomb University has announced that Friday, Jan. 9 will be a remote work and learning day. The following was sent to Lipscomb University students, faculty and staff. “Based on the latest updates this afternoon from the National Weather Service, the forecast continues to indicate the strong possibility of a significant winter weather event that will impact the Middle Tennessee area beginning tomorrow morning.     Lipscomb’s Lighting of the Green celebrates two decades of Christmas cheer

    Amy Grant and friends celebrated two decades of holiday tradition at Lipscomb’s 20th Annual Lighting of the Green, featuring music, memories, and community spirit.  This year’s lineup included Grant’s husband and country music legend Vince Gill, who joined the festivities with performances of holiday favorites. Adding to the celebration were The Arcadian Wild and Daves Highway, two guest groups who brought unique harmonies and energy to the event.  Alongside them all stood the Lipscomb Academy and University choirs.     Layered protection: Lipscomb’s new ID guidelines aim to boost safety

    Lipscomb University is introducing a new ID protocol starting in January to enhance campus safety and security. Under the updated guidelines, all students, faculty and staff must visibly wear their official Lipscomb photo ID while on campus, with additional measures for building access after hours. On Monday the bi-weekly McQueen’s Memo contained the announcement of the new security protocol. Lipscomb ID’s must be visible, and access to academic buildings will be limited to key card access past 10 p.m. Chief of Lipscomb Security Mark Shafer, who was appointed in August, said this is just a part of a multilayer protection plan. “We’re concerned in the security department with protection, of…
