Lipscomb announces remote work and classes due to impending winter storm

Due to inclement weather, Lipscomb University has announced that Friday, Jan. 9 will be a remote work and learning day. The following was sent to Lipscomb University students, faculty and staff.

“Based on the latest updates this afternoon from the National Weather Service, the forecast continues to indicate the strong possibility of a significant winter weather event that will impact the Middle Tennessee area beginning tomorrow morning. We intentionally waited for this briefing to make a final decision on our operational plans for tomorrow. As a result, to prioritize the safety of our community, Friday, Jan. 10 will be designated a remote work and learning day for faculty, staff and students at Lipscomb University.

On Friday, Jan. 10 all undergraduate and graduate classes will be offered in a remote format. In addition, all graduate classes scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11, will be held remotely. Students will receive instructions from their faculty members for specific information regarding accessing their classes. As a reminder for residential students: Food service, service operations, campus safety and other services for students living on campus will be provided and available.

All non-essential offices will also operate in a remote format on Friday, Jan. 10. Students who need assistance during this time should contact offices via university email or visit www.lipscomb.edu/one-stop

Thank you for your cooperation and flexibility as we anticipate this potential winter weather event.”
