Behind the curtain with Hello Darling — a band with origins as Lipscomb freshmen
You never know what might come out of Lipscomb’s music ensemble classes. The Nashville-based alternative folk band Hello Darling just happens to be one of those things. The band was born when a group of five musically talented people wound up thrown together in an ensemble as freshmen and discovered they all shared a passion for good music. Hello Darling comprises juniors Patrick Armould and Grace Russell, who share lead vocals; junior Amber Sawyer on bass; senior Riley O’Donnell on drums; and senior Noah Haggard on lead guitar. They come from different parts of the country and have different majors, musical tastes and backgrounds, but they found common ground through…

Renovations possible for the SAC
The student athletic center, also known as the “SAC”, here at Lipscomb University has always been a staple building on campus. But, according to Kegan York, director of campus recreation, we now have more students than recreation center. “We’ve definitely outgrown our space.” Kegan York Built in 1994, the SAC didn’t have any renovations done until 2011, which moved the weight room from where the Freshens is now to where the weight room now lives. Lipscomb by the numbers – Registration
Registration – quite possibly one of the most stress-inducing words for a college student. And now… it’s upon us. Lipscomb’s registration is set for four days this week, starting on Monday the third, and ending on Friday the seventh, skipping Wednesday the fifth. Monday is open for graduate students and seniors to register – any student with over 90 hours. Tuesday is open for the juniors at Lipscomb, who have to have between 60 and 89 hours. Thursday is for the sophomores, students with between 30 and 59 hours. And finally Friday is for freshmen, Lipscomb students with under 29 hours. Registration opens at different times too. Lipscomb’s 60th Singarama comes to a close
Lipscomb’s 60th Singarama came to an end with the final performance on Saturday. The sweepstakes category went to “Diamond in the Rough”. The group consisted of members from the social clubs Phi Sigma, Phi Nu, Tau Phi and Sigma Alpha, as well as friends. The categories for the last show were best vocals, entertainment and overall sweepstakes. Best vocals and entertainment went to the group “Shine Bright Like a Diamond”. Junior marketing major, Lexi Peden and her sister, sophomore music industry studies major Isabella, co-directed the winning group. Singarama performances ‘sparkle’ on opening night of Diamond Anniversary
On what was a beautiful night for song and dance in Nashville, students, faculty, and other members of the Lipscomb community came together for the opening night of Lipscomb’s annual “Singarama” event. After months of commitment, preparation, and anticipation, students participating in the event were finally able to see all of their hard work come to fruition; performing in front of what was a packed crowd inside of Collins Alumni Auditorium. Included in the massive audience was Lipscomb graduate (1965) Coba Craig, who came up with the idea for Singarama six decades ago while he was a student. The theme of this year’s event was diamonds. The new look Bisons
The Lipscomb Men’s basketball season just ended, and the Bisons will not look the same when the season starts next year. The Bisons only have two seniors, but unfortunately, they are two very important players who play a huge role at Lipscomb University. Matt Schner First is Matt Schner. Matt transferred to Lipscomb this year for his final season of college basketball. This week’s edition of Lipscomb by the numbers takes a look at none other than the campus’s WiFi. With so many students coming back to campus from break this week, and all of their devices rejoining the school’s WiFi network, the WiFi is going to be busier than it’s been in the past week. But the WiFi sees peak hours, and those are the numbers we’re going to talk about this week. There are three WiFi’s on campus: staff, student and guest. All of the peak time numbers come from IT. It’s time to say goodbye to the old, and hello to the new. If you’re someone that has been craving healthier eating options at Lipscomb, then we’ve got some good news for you. Two new on-campus dining options will be coming to Lipscomb next year. ‘Boar’s Head Deli’ will be replacing ‘Pie on the Fly’, and ‘Wild Blue’ will be replacing ‘Creekstone Burger Company’.
