Lipscomb’s 60th Singarama comes to a close
Lipscomb’s 60th Singarama came to an end with the final performance on Saturday. The sweepstakes category went to “Diamond in the Rough”. The group consisted of members from the social clubs Phi Sigma, Phi Nu, Tau Phi and Sigma Alpha, as well as friends. The categories for the last show were best vocals, entertainment and overall sweepstakes. Best vocals and entertainment went to the group “Shine Bright Like a Diamond”. Junior marketing major, Lexi Peden and her sister, sophomore music industry studies major Isabella, co-directed the winning group. Singarama performances ‘sparkle’ on opening night of Diamond Anniversary
On what was a beautiful night for song and dance in Nashville, students, faculty, and other members of the Lipscomb community came together for the opening night of Lipscomb’s annual “Singarama” event. After months of commitment, preparation, and anticipation, students participating in the event were finally able to see all of their hard work come to fruition; performing in front of what was a packed crowd inside of Collins Alumni Auditorium. Included in the massive audience was Lipscomb graduate (1965) Coba Craig, who came up with the idea for Singarama six decades ago while he was a student. The theme of this year’s event was diamonds. On Tuesday they picked up where the left off with #4 Vanderbilt, this time on their turf, after last weeks game was postponed. Lipscomb lost to Vanderbilt 1-11. They start their three-day series against Liberty on Friday. The Softball team lost the series against Jacksonville 0-3, as well as their mid week game against Chattanooga 1-3. This Saturday and Sunday they compete against Stetson in a home weekend series. The Women’s Golf team took first place in the Georgia State Spring Invitational…

Singarama celebrates 60 years
The Diamond Anniversary 1964 was an important year. The Beatles took the United States by storm, the fight for racial equality was in full swing, and our military took its first shots in the Vietnam War. Here at Lipscomb University, a new tradition was born. It would become an annual event called Singarama. Singarama is a 2-day performance where the Social Clubs (Lipscomb’s version of Fraternities and Sororities) and other students sing, dance, and entertain. These shows are written, directed, and staged by the students. It’s a competition. The performances are judged on choreography, sets and props (visuals), vocals, entertainment, and the overall theme. This week’s edition of Lipscomb by the numbers takes a look at none other than the campus’s WiFi. With so many students coming back to campus from break this week, and all of their devices rejoining the school’s WiFi network, the WiFi is going to be busier than it’s been in the past week. But the WiFi sees peak hours, and those are the numbers we’re going to talk about this week. There are three WiFi’s on campus: staff, student and guest. All of the peak time numbers come from IT. It’s time to say goodbye to the old, and hello to the new. If you’re someone that has been craving healthier eating options at Lipscomb, then we’ve got some good news for you. Two new on-campus dining options will be coming to Lipscomb next year. ‘Boar’s Head Deli’ will be replacing ‘Pie on the Fly’, and ‘Wild Blue’ will be replacing ‘Creekstone Burger Company’. Lipscomb falls to FGCU in regular-season finale
A close game between the Lady Bisons and Florida Gulf Coast Wednesday night turned into the biggest Lipscomb loss of the women’s season. The Eagles won 101-59 in both teams’ final regular-season game. This was not how anyone expected the Lady Bisons’ final game of the season to go. FGCU (29-3, 17-1 in the ASUN) is No. 24 in the nation and enter the postseason first in the ASUN. The Lady Bisons (19-11, 13-5) are seeded third in the conference and have a first-round bye in the ASUN championship. Bisons beat UIC Flames in weekend series 2-1
Despite a slow start on Friday, the Lipscomb Bisons rounded out this weekend with a 2-1 series win against the University of Illinois Chicago Flames. Friday’s game did not go as expected. The game began with no runs for either the Flames or the Bisons in the first inning. UIC came close, loading the bases, but junior, left-handed starting pitcher Michael Dunkelberger struck out the next two batters and retired the side. In the top of the second, Flames redshirt sophomore outfielder AJ Henkle smacked a ball clear over the centerfield fence for a solo home run, giving them the lead in the game.
