Late-game drama sees Lipscomb fall in ASUN matchup to Queens, 75-73

Lipscomb Men’s Basketball drop game 3 of its ASUN slate against Queens 75-73 in a classical Allen Arena thriller.

The first half saw the Royals jump out to an early 11-2 lead, fueled by Chris Ashby’s three early 3-pointers.

Lipscomb, however, chipped away behind strong play from Dylan Faulkner. Defensively the Bisons slowly began capitalizing on Queens turnovers with key baskets from Joe Anderson and Will Pruitt.

The Bisons tightened their defense in the latter part of the half, limiting Queens’ scoring opportunities and keeping the game within reach. Going into the locker room with a 32-28 lead.

The second half was a back-and-forth affair. Lipscomb pulled away late with a 13-point lead. With crucial contributions from Jacob Ognacevic and Faulkner. The Royals would soon cut that lead with a 10-0 run themselves.

The Bisons struggled to flip the momentum late. Gyasi Powell comes up with a clutch three to tie the game with about 15 seconds remaining.

The Royals, however, answered, taking the lead back with about 8 seconds remaining. Pruitt out of timeouts drives the court and misses a contested layup.

Key Players
