Lady Bisons return home seeking first ASUN wins against FGCU and Stetson

The Lipscomb University women’s soccer team will return to the Lipscomb Soccer Complex this week to host a pair of Atlantic Sun Conference matches.

The Bisons, 3-2-4 overall and 0-1-1 in the ASUN, face Florida Gulf Coast University at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1. Lipscomb concludes its weekend homestand against Stetson University at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4.

Lipscomb looks to rebound after a winless road trip to start conference play. The Bisons earned a 2-2 draw at Jacksonville University on Sept. 24 before falling 1-0 to the University of North Florida on Sunday. The reigning ASUN champion Bisons have struggled to find consistent offense, managing nine goals through nine games. However, Lipscomb’s back line has allowed just seven goals this year, which ranks second in the conference.

Junior midfielder Tatum Ahlemeyer leads the Bisons’ attack. Ahlemeyer has scored four of Lipscomb’s nine goals this season and accounts for the game-winning goal in all three of the team’s victories.

The opening matchup against FGCU features a long-standing conference rivalry. The Eagles hold an 11-3-6 advantage in the all-time series and have historically performed well in Nashville, earning results in nine of their 10 meetings at Lipscomb. Three of the last four games between the two programs have ended in a tie, including a 2-2 draw during the 2024 season.
