Jacob Ognacevic leads the way: Lipscomb cruises past Austin Peay in ASUN showdown
In an ASUN Conference clash at Allen Arena, the Lipscomb Bisons dominated the Austin Peay Governors, securing an 88-60 victory. The Bisons, now 5-1 in conference play, showcased stellar performances, highlighted by Jacob Ognacevic’s double-double with 31 points and 12 rebounds.
Lipscomb’s efficient shooting, including 60% from the field and 52.2% from beyond the arc, overwhelmed the Governors, who struggled with a 34.9% shooting performance. Lipscomb controlled the boards and 10-0 run spanning over into the second half sealed the game.
Jacob Ognacevic’s Dominance: Ognacevic delivered an exceptional performance with 31 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 11-12 from the field and 9-9 from the free-throw line. The Governors had no answer for Lipscomb’s inside game who gave up 36 points in the paint.
Rebounding: Lipscomb dominated the boards, out-rebounding Austin Peay 41-22.
Second-Half Surge: Lipscomb turned up the heat after halftime, outscoring Austin Peay 53-33, shooting 70% from the field.
The Bisons were favored by -14.5. The Bisons complete the over with a final of 88-60.
Lipscomb improves to 13-6 overall and 5-1 in ASUN play. The Governors fall to 7-12 overall and 2-4 in the ASUN. With the Bison win, Lipscomb is in a four way tie for first in the ASUN with Queens, Jacksonville, and FGCU.
