    After 23 years, Volleyball Head Coach Brandon Rosenthal to retire

    When one thinks of Lipscomb Volleyball, Head Coach Brandon Rosenthal comes to mind. The two are strongly tied together – but they won’t be for much longer. After 23 seasons as Lipscomb Volleyball’s head coach, it’s no surprise that Rosenthal is one of the cornerstones of the program. Yet late in the afternoon of Jan. 7, his retirement was announced to the Lipscomb community. The decision came, Rosenthal said to Lipscomb Athletics, not from a desire to leave Lipscomb, but rather from one to “put FAMILY FIRST, a message I have preached for decades.” Athletic’s Director Philip Hutcheson, in a release from Athletics, spoke highly of Rosenthal. “Brandon’s legacy here…

    Lipscomb volleyball wins conference match, eyes ASUN tournament

    Lipscomb volleyball scored an important conference win on Sept. 26. The team swept the University of West Virginia, beating the Wolves in just three sets. After trading a few back-and-forth points, Lipscomb remained in the lead for most of set one. The team settled into a rhythm, communicating on the court, and cheering and chanting from the bench. An ace by junior outside hitter Ella Durham helped the Bisons win the first set 25-17. The second set was closer, with six lead changes between the Bisons and Wolves.     Lipscomb volleyball takes on No. 1 Nebraska — a photo gallery

    Allen Arena was packed to the brim Friday night as the Bisons took on the No. 1 Nebraska Cornhuskers. With over 4,230 people in attendance — many in Nebraska red — the energy in the arena was electric. The Cornhuskers swept the match 25-12, 25-21 and 25-15.     The many layers of Lipscomb Volleyball’s Meg Mersman

    When many people think of Lipscomb senior Meg Mersman, they often see her as one of the leaders and faces of Lipscomb’s volleyball program over the past five seasons.  They see a 6’2 middle blocker that is the reigning ASUN Conference Player of the Year. They see a former conference champion and a AVCA (America Volleyball Coaches Association) All-American Honorable mention.
