Lipscomb celebrates National Food Service Worker Day
On Friday, students and staff had the opportunity to recognize their food service workers for “National Food Service Worker Day.”
Throughout September 25, a poster was displayed in the Lipscomb Cafe where students could write special thank you sticky notes to the food service workers. Some messages left by students include, “Nothing beats the cafe!!!” or “I never miss a day to eat lunch! Ya’ll rock!”
When asked about her experience with the Cafe’s food service workers, freshman Mallory Judd expressed her gratitude. “I think that our food service staff always take care of us,” Judd said.
Some of the Lipscomb food service staff have worked in the Cafe for long enough to watch students develop from freshmen into seniors, and beyond.
Brandy Marshall is one of those staff members. She’s been working for Lipscomb University for eighteen years now, and has expressed great joy in working in the Cafe.
“I love just making a person’s day,” she said, “because you never know what a person is going through.”
