Running point in Basketball & Business: The story of Lipscomb’s Logan Suber
In the game of basketball, the job of a point guard is to run and operate the offense. It’s a position that requires good leadership, decision-making, communication and setting up not just yourself, but your entire team in a position to succeed.
Sort of sounds like running a business right? Well no one would know this comparison better than Lipscomb sophomore Logan Suber.
Suber is entering his second year with the Bisons program after he redshirted with the team last year as a true freshman; graduating high school a year early in order to join the team in 2023.
However the story of Suber, and clothing/apparel brand “Stack Good Days”, begins well before his time at Lipscomb. As a matter of fact, you’d have to go back to his time in high school, where he was a standout guard and a state champion at Mt. Zion Prep Academy in Lanham, Maryland.
How “Stack Good Days” Began
“I was just in class, just thinking about all types of things. I’m always thinking about motivational stuff for the team” Suber said. “We were probably going through a rough stretch and I was just in class, probably in science class, and I was just like, ‘Stack Good Days‘”.
The meaning of the mantra? According to Suber, its actually quite simple.
“An easy way to explain is just continuous improvement. Every day, just try to find something that you could Improve upon. There’s nothing too crazy. I mean it’s in the mantra itself, ‘stack good days’. Just stacking one good day on top of another.”
Fast forward to a year later and Suber was receiving multiple scholarship offers from Division I programs around the country, but he was also going through one of the most challenging times of his life. This was when Suber decided to take that mantra and put it to action.
“It was that summer. I had always been saying it, but I just never had the time to create the brand because of basketball” Suber explained.
“My focus was all on basketball and it wasn’t until I got hurt; I got hurt and had a lot of free time on my hands and I had to get surgery so I was on bed rest. And then a few days later, my Nana, she passed away. So I was just in a bad spot mentally, a lot of negative thoughts and I just told myself I couldn’t stay in this area for too long and I was like, ‘Alright, let’s just get this brand going. Let’s try and make some t-shirts and just take my mind off all the negative stuff that was happening in my life.’”
So Suber did exactly that; turning a time of mourning and hardship, into a time of growth and transformation. He opened his online store stackgooddays.com and has since been releasing various clothing items for both athletic and casual wear.
During that time, Suber says that he has even seen “Stack Good Days” phrase come to life during his basketball journey as well.
“We could take it back to when I got hurt for example. I mean, I had to relearn how to kind of walk a little bit in a sense.” Suber said. “Just starting back from, I had a good amount of schools reaching out to me, looking at me. I was playing well during that time. And then I got hurt and it just kind of just all went away. And then rehab every single day I saw a little bit of progress. It’s getting a little bit easier to walk. It’s not hurting as bad. And then now I’m running. Now I’m back to shooting. Now I’m back playing. Now I’m back to myself.”
Growth of the Brand and Managing It All
In August 2023, Suber announced that he was committed to Lipscomb, and he joined the Bisons team on campus right after, and during that time, Suber has seen the Stack Good Days brand grow exponentially.
The brand’s Instagram page has over 3,700 followers and it’s website has seen multiple clothing drops sell out. Stack Good Days was more than just a distraction from life’s challenges for Suber, it was a full-on business now.
Something that as you can imagine can be tough to manage while having the full-time schedule of a student athlete.
“It is tough, and a lot of people don’t see what goes on behind the front end, but there’s a lot of work that goes into it man.” Suber explained.
“I’m always thinking about different designs. I’m planning months ahead. Like I’m planning drops for the Spring of 2025, for the Fall of next year [2025]. It’s a continuous journey. It just never stops. I mean, I’m looking at your shirt right now and I’m thinking, ‘What kind of fabric is that? How can I duplicate it?’.”
Stack Good Days has also included multiple Lipscomb students as models in its projects, giving everyone from all backgrounds the chance to be a part of what the brand is doing. “I’m always open to people modeling for me!” Suber says. “It’s a family”.

Despite the busy schedule and the inevitable learning curve that comes with being a young entrepreneur, Suber feels good about how he’s been able to manage it all.
“I’m still new to all of this. I mean, it’s kind of taken off pretty fast and I’m still learning myself. So it’s just a lot trying to just balance everything, but I think I’ve been doing a solid job handling it all.”
For Suber, being able to run a brand like this is something that he’s found enjoyment in. However, his purpose for doing it goes well beyond just creating a comfortable, fashionable product that can sell. It’s about the message and leaving a positive impact on the lives of others.
“Just to see how it affects other people and how it could really like impact so many different backgrounds.” Suber said. “Like not just athletes. People who don’t play sports, high class, middle class, low class, young, old, middle-age, like all different types of backgrounds. It’s just a positive message that could impact so many, so many lives.”
New Goals and a Big Vision
So what’s next for Stack Good Days? Suber says that he is already planning their next few drops for 2025; even giving us a look into a few ideas that he has in the works.
“Early into the new year, we got new year goals, you’re trying to start fresh. That collection I’m thinking about the name right now; it’s probably going to be ‘Dreamers Club’. And then the spring, I have some nice spring hoodies coming out I think, and I’m trying to get into the women’s side. So it should have some good stuff coming up. I’m excited.”
In terms of what the future holds, Suber believes that only God knows, but he also also believes that whatever that next step is, its going to be big; so big that it can be mentioned in the same conversation as some of the top apparel brands in the world.
“I think it could be really, really big. On the level of maybe Nike, Under Armour, on that type of degree” Suber says. “A brand back home in my hometown called ‘The Museum’, they actually did a collaboration with Under Armour, I think it was last year on a shoe. And I just think that’s something that Stack Good Days can do.”
“I think it’s going to be on that type of level. And I don’t know when, I don’t know when it’s gonna happen; might be a year from now, might be 10 years from now, but I just know I’m gonna keep doing my part and I’m just gonna leave it in God’s hands.”
As Lipscomb gets ready to begin the 2024-25 season, Suber’s first season of in-game action, he will look to continue his growth and make an impact on the court; just like both he and his business have grown and are making an impact off of it. All by just stacking good days, one day at a time.
