Basketball takes on Central Arkansas twice and dominates – a photo gallery

Lipscomb’s men’s basketball team faced off against the Central Arkansas Bears twice in the past week. Their first game, on Wednesday, saw them beat the Bears 78-60 to become the ASUN regular season champions. Then in their second game, on Monday, they triumphed over the bears 84-66 to move forward in the ASUN Tournament bracket.

There were some key moments in both games, some of which happened not once, but twice – such as Lipscomb senior forward Jacob Ognacevic dunking on UCA. Herd Media Sports Photographer Micah Barkley captured those moments.

Both games against the Bears were fast-paced, with the Bisons pulling ahead early. Though the Bears briefly regained some momentum in the second half on Wednesday, the Bisons were able to close out the game with the win.

Monday night also saw electricity fill Allen Arena, as the Bisons looked to advance in the ASUN tournament standings. And advance they did, beating the Bears to move on to the semifinals, where they’ll face off against Queens.

Wednesday’s game was also the Bisons’ senior night, where each senior on the roster and staff was recognized.

The Bisons’ next game will be the ASUN semifinals, against Queens in Allen Arena on Thursday night. Tipoff will take place at 7:00 p.m. and the Bisons will look to continue moving forward in the tournament. The theme is “purple out,” so students and fans alike are encouraged to wear purple to support their Bisons.
